Project "Electronic Corps of Polish Medieval Latin" is looking for Latinists to work on the annotation of Latin texts
What is the work about?
The annotation includes:
1.marking the structure of the Latin text (separating headings, titles, quotes, etc .; removing the critical apparatus, non-Latin text, etc.) and
2. proofreading the text.
What conditions do we offer?
1. We start work in November 2018 In October we will organize a meeting of the annotators team.
2. Contractors will work remotely. Periodic team meetings will be held via the Internet at times convenient for the annotators. We will also organize a meeting on site at least twice a year - we will cover the cost of the participation of annotators from the project funds.
3. We are hiring in the project on the basis of a civil law contract (for specific work). The period of completing the entire work (approx. 4,200 standard pages, standard page = approx. 500 words) is 12 months. It is possible to conclude a new contract for the next 12-month period.
4. The total remuneration for the performance of the entire work will be PLN 36,000 gross. For organizational reasons, we will pay the remuneration in parts (intervals) of two months based on the results of the work (parts of the work) in the amount of PLN 6,000 gross for the development of each part of the work, i.e. 700 standard pages (standard page = approx. 500 words). The exact calculation will take into account the difficulty of the text. Arrears at work exceeding two months will result in the termination of the contract.
What do we require?
1. We require candidates to:
- excellent command of the Latin language,
- regularity and accuracy,
