Valerius of Bierzo and his hagiographical compilation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Streszczenie<\/h3>\n
Valerius of Bierzo was a hermit who lived in the north-west of the Iberian Peninsula in the VIIth century. He is mainly known for two kinds of works: texts written in the first person (where he narrates his experiences in the solitude), and a collection of hagiographical and ascetic texts he gathered (generally called the „hagiographical compilation of Valerius”).<\/p>\n
In the first part of my presentation, I will briefly describe his life and work. Afterwards, I will present with more details the „hagiographical compilation”, the manuscripts that contain it and the texts it is made of, trying to insist particularly on the specific problems raised by such a 'dossier’ and the way digital methods can help use solve them.<\/p>\n
